*The question of the connection between human and non-human is a central theme in my artistic work and i think the dog is a great example for that. Humans chose to eat pigs and have dogs as life companions, even though they are both extraordinarily intelligent and social species.

The title refers to the expression ‘den inneren Schweinehund überwinden’ (‘overcoming the inner pig dog’) in my first language German, which means daring to do something or overcoming inner obstacles. I interpret the ‘pig dog’ as a form of resistance that one feels in oneself, something challenging or unpleasant. This highlights the fact that we sometimes feel uncomfortable with the way we have bred the dog to be so obedient and dependent on us.
